Rumors and Leaks Confirm The iPhone 8 Launch is Nearing!

The iPhone 8 launch is close, and we all know about it. But is there any concrete evidence about the launch? Previously, we only assumed that Apple would launch its prized product, the iPhone 8, this month. But, now we have a solid proof with which we will begin this iPhone 8 news round-up.

The recent leaks show images gathered by Slashleaks. These images claim to show the Lightning port and speaker components from suppliers. They are all ready to ship the parts to the factories that will assemble Apple’s handsets.

And that is not all about the rumors covered in this week’s iPhone 8 news round-up. Another recent report from Digitimes quotes the supply chain. It says that Apple is currently working to secure a massive stockpile of camera modules from many smaller Chinese suppliers. According to the news, Apple has, since July, moved to secure massive supply of camera lens modules from Taiwan-based upstream suppliers Largan Precision and Genius Electronics Optical. Meanwhile, it is ensuring timely shipments of finished models from downstream assemblers Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron. This has made the business records of all related makers in the iPhone supply chain trend upward all the way in the second half of the year.

By the above news, we can confirm that Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has got his hands on a massive stockpile of iPhone 8 camera lens modules. It hints that the high-end iPhone’s launch is nearing!

The Release Date of iPhone 8 is Confirmed!

Our iPhone 8 news round-up will be incomplete without this breaking news. The Wall Street Journal has published a report that we all have been waiting for. The report indicates that Apple has finally set in stone September 12th as the day when it will launch the year’s most highly-anticipated product, which is the Apple’s flagship iPhone 8!

While we are still waiting for Apple to send out the official press invitations. But the news of an early-September launch event time frame has circulated before. So, we all can believe that 12th September will be the day! But interestingly, the WSJ report confirms that Apple is considering to hold the event at the all-new Steve Jobs Theater located at Apple Park. Although most recent footage shows that the site’s construction is still in progress. However, Apple’s 120,000 square-foot underground auditorium may not be ready, just in time to be packed with spectators on the big day.

But just in case, in a fallback scenario, Apple does have a backup plan. It could always hold the launch ceremony at its “Town Hall” auditorium at Apple’s 1 Infinite Loop campus. Or it could host it either at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. The thing about these places is that they have previously served as the hosting venues at which Apple launched some of its major products. But what I think, the place where Apple decides to have the event does not really matter. We all already know that this is going to be a huge event regardless of the place!

Three Other Devices Launching Along With iPhone 8!

Yes, it is true! Apple has announced not just to launch the iPhone 8. Rather, it will also release three other major devices along with it. We all know that Apple has big plans for September. But the additional launch of three other devices along with the iPhone 8 is definitely a big news anyone could expect. In this iPhone 8 news round-up, we also give some brief details of all three devices.

Two Other Variants of iPhone

iPhone 8 news round up

Apple is launching two other variants of the iPhone along with the iPhone 8. What will they be called is still not confirmed. But, rumoredly, they will be iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. Why is Apple launching these other seemingly fewer models along with a premium handset? Well, the premium handset will have a premium price.

As rumored, the iPhone 8 will come with a hefty price tag. That is why Apple is launching two cheaper models. They will have a familiar design which we have seen in the previous iPhones with 4.7 and 5.5 LCD screens. It will also have some of the flagships features. For example, both models might work on iOS 11, and will feature wireless charging. Moreover, they will also be running on the Apple A11 CPU. Therefore, every Apple fan can enjoy some of the iPhone 8 features while not completely emptying out their pockets!

Apple Watch Series 3

iPhone 8 news round up

There have been several rumors about the far-out modular design and the highly advanced diagnostic health applications for many months now. But recently, a new report has surfaced which says that the actual next generation of Apple Watch, given the name as Apple Watch Series 3, would embody a familiar form-factor than the one which was previously thought.

Yes, we accept the fact that, right now, we are unaware of many of the major technical details or the specifications. But the reports have so far indicated that the Apple Watch Series 3’s most primary selling point will be its inclusion of the LTE wireless connectivity. It means that, it will for the very first time, allow the wearable to operate independently of an iPhone. If there is anything else which is “new” about the Apple Watch Series 3, then we will have to wait until the big day, September 12, to hear more about it.

4K Apple TV

iPhone 8 news round up

Apple’s last TV set-top box was released to much fanfare back in October 2015. Apple has been following the current trend, as it noticed an increase in the household usage of 4K televisions. That is why Apple is releasing a 4K-capable Apple TV update.

There have been rumors about the existence of an Apple TV box which began surfacing earlier this year. However, it was confirmed just a couple of weeks ago when its name was unearthed in one of the major HomePod code leaks. Tim Cook, earlier this year at Apple’s WWDC 2017, told the audience that his company would have much more to say about Apple TV and tvOS 11 later on this year. So let’s just hope that we will be seeing this device on display on September 12.

Confirmed Features of The iPhone 8!

The date of iPhone 8’s launch has been announced. So, we can finally confirm the news about few of the features we may see in the iPhone 8. Earlier, all such news were purely based on leaks, rumors, and speculations. But now, several authentic sources have confirmed the features that are worth mentioning in this iPhone 8 news round-up.

Revamped Design

iPhone 8 news round up

The iPhone 8 will come with an entirely new design. The hideous bezels that have been there since the first iPhone came out have gone. The new iPhone will have a complete bezel less design. With an edge to edge to OLED display. There will be no physical home button on the screen. However, there will be a virtual home button underneath the screen. The phone will have a complete glass front and glass back. Giving it a mirror like a look with polished metal corners. It will be the first time that Apple will incorporate OLED display screen in its handsets.

Facial Recognition

iPhone 8 news round up

As we know that the iPhone 8 will be button-less. So Apple is killing the Touch ID feature which was previously fitted with the home button. Apple did try in keeping this feature. But there was simply no place to install the Touch ID sensor’s hardware. That is why, Apple has introduced facial recognition. This feature will be the replacement of the Touch ID. It will surely be flawless, unlike Samsung’s faulty technology. Apple has placed two iris scanners in the iPhone 8 that will scan your phone in 3D. The scanners can even work in the dark, or while lying on a flat surface. It could even differentiate between identical twins.

Wireless Charging

This feature has been long rumored. Finally, it will be debuted in the iPhone 8. This technology isn’t new, as it was previously introduced in Samsung’s S8. It is about time that Apple launches the wireless charging feature.

Improved Camera

The iPhone 8 will have a powerful camera that will take breath-taking pictures. The iPhone 8 also has a feature called “SmartCam” which will enable you to take beautiful pictures in all conditions. No matter you are in a night club, under the fireworks or it is snowing, the SmartCam will allow you to take extra ordinary pictures regardless of the environmental conditions!

Augmented Reality

It is no secret that Apple has been secretly working on Augmented Reality and the iPhone 8 will be first to feature this technology. We have noticed that Apple has changed the arrangements of the rear dual camera. Previously, in the iPhone 7 Plus, it was fitted horizontally. But now, the camera is installed vertically. The change has happened because this vertical position of the dual camera will support the Augmented Reality based apps since the phone is usually held in a landscape position while using such apps. This is just the tip of the ice berg as many new breakthroughs in this technology are yet to come.

iOS 11

The working iOS for the iPhone 8 will be the iOS 11. It will be the latest iOS that Apple will launch along with its flagship. The new iOS will have many new features. For instance, the augmented Siri will tell you about an object just by pointing the camera at it. Also, the gesture control feature will be there. As we already know that the physical button will be virtual, there will be many gestures and shortcuts that will come along the new iOS operating system. For example, you could silent the notifications, and the incoming calls just by glancing at the phone.

Apple A11 CPU

Apple A11 Processor

The A11 processor, is said to revolutionize the working capabilities of the iPhone 8. TSMC, which is a CPU manufacturer is working continuously and has involved a new 10-nanometer technology. It means that the chip won’t only be fast, but it will also stay cool and will be much more energy efficient. Heading towards the stats and figures, 4537 points in single-core mode and 8975 points in multi-core. It is surely a new record for a mobile CPU.

The iPhone 8 Dock

We have previously seen a dock type bar in the latest iPad. But the recent news says that we would see something very similar in the iPhone 8 too. The dock area usually has your recently used apps stored in it, so that you can easily re-access it. The iPhone 8, which is said to run on the iOS 11, does indicate that the dock will most probably appear just above the virtual home button. This is what the latest news reports, truly worth-covering in the iPhone 8 news round-up!

Wireless Charging – Hell Expensive and Not Worth It

The wireless charging feature, after much delay, has finally been introduced in the iPhone 8. But wait, are you wondering why am I mentioning this old news in the recent iPhone 8 news round-up? Well, this is just to tell you that the most anticipated feature is not as grand as you think!

iPhone 8 news round up

First of all, what took it so long? The Android users have been using this technology for a long time, and it is about time Apple launches it. Secondly, the charging pad won’t be included in the box of iPhone 8. It will be sold separately, costing you a few extra hundred dollars.

Talking about the Android devices, most of us can just make use of almost all third party hardware, which is way cheaper and works amazingly well. However, this won’t be possible with Apple. Any third party manufacturer that is not licensed under the Apple’s “Made for iPhone” program will not be able to charge and work with the iPhone 8. Hence, leaving the only option of you buying the Apple authorized pad if you want to make use of this technology.

Furthermore, a report by Forbes also indicates that Apple will not be giving its users fast wireless charging capabilities that were thought to be out of the box. The iOS 11 software update will first check if the pad which is being used by the user is authorized by Apple or not. If it is not, then it won’t charge the phone using the same equipment. That is, however, not the end of problems. This so called wireless technology will most probably run at just 7.5 watts, which is quite less if we compare it to the 15 watts usually offered by other devices.

The Price of iPhone 8 And The Storage Tiers

The most shocking news of this week’s iPhone 8 news round-up is now here! The iPhone 8, with such jaw dropping features, will come with a price tag of $1200. Yes, that is right, the iPhone 8 will be the most expensive handset that Apple will be launching on 12th September.

The entry-level model, which is of 64 GB, is expected to come in at $999 exclusive of tax. Then a mid-tier model which is of 256 GB is priced at $1099. Finally, a top-tier model, which is of 512 GB, is priced at $1199. That is definitely a new line-up for an iPhone as it does match the iPad Pro choices.  We all know that Apple loves repeating patterns, so you may consider this is as another nod towards the iPhone 8 being the absolute ‘Pro’ smartphone in the portfolio.

Like always, Apple has kept a $100 separation between all the storage tiers, which has led to a curious situation. It is like the first storage increase that we see among the models is of 192 GB which costs the same as the second increase which is of 256 GB. Presumably, Apple won’t be so crass as to only say ‘buy another 192 GB, get a bonus 64 GB for free’, but still, the thought is there.

The iPhone X

Another biggest news surfaced recently deserves to make its place in this iPhone 8 news round-up! Apple’s latest flagship won’t be an ordinary handset. It will be Apple’s celebratory unit as it will be coming on Apple’s 10th anniversary. That is why, Apple has decided to name its premium iPhone as the ‘iPhone X’. Why X? This is according to recent rumors that Apple is embracing Roman numerals to mark its grand 10th anniversary milestone.

iPhone X

A source also suggests that it will be launched alongside two other phones, which will be called as the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus. And this could possibly mean that Apple is skipping the ‘S’ generation for the very first time since it was introduced.

The iPhone 8 Clone

The last shock in this week’s iPhone 8 news round-up is the launching of iPhone 8 replica phone! Recently, an iPhone 8 clone has surfaced even before the launch of the actual handset. The handset looks exactly like the original iPhone 8, having the same bezel-less display and the top notch cut out area. It also seems to work on a copy of iOS 11, when in real presumably it would be running on an Android operating system.

There are strong chances that the clone could also do business, because of two major reasons. First, that the iPhone 8 could face a significant shortage in demand, says the supply chain sources, hence giving the iPhone 8’s clone to run in the market. Secondly, the high price will make the original iPhone 8 unaffordable for many people. So, be careful if you’re making a deal with a shady dealer for an iPhone which would cost less, as he could just be ripping you off with a fake iPhone 8.
