One of the biggest features expected in the year 2017 is the Apple’s iPhone 8 wireless charging. The iPhone 8 may feature wireless charging technology, and it can charge up to 15 feet away rather than the so called companies which claim to provide wireless technology but you have to place it on wireless charging accessory, or it can charge just four centimeters away wirelessly. The rumor about wireless charging has credibility because of an interview conducted by The Verge with Energous CEO Steve Rizzone.
(Update 2: 14 Feb 2017) Apple has been added to the Wireless Power Consortium site. Apple is listed as their member on the website. So, the news about the wireless charging featuring in the upcoming iPhone 8 continues to heat up.

The Copperfield Research believes that Apple has a partnership with Energous but Apple is utilizing the business with them for just research on radio frequency based charging, and it indicates that Apple will not use Energous wireless charging technology, but they will use in-house inductive wireless charging.
iPhone 8 May Feature Wireless Charging, Hints Energous CEO
This new feature can solve one of the biggest headaches and woes of your smartphones because Energous fuels wireless charging rumors.
So before the start of CES – Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Energous CEO Steve Rizzone in an interview conducted by The Verge said that their company is set to begin shipping of wireless charging transmitters by the end of 2017.
The Energous company said the similar thing in 2015 at CES then why the delay of two years? Seemingly, Energous signed a “vital strategic partnership” after one month of 2015 CES.
Energous did not tell about who exactly its partner, but according to The Verge it gives rights to its partner to be the first to ship the wireless charging technology of long-distance in laptops, wearables, tablets, and smartphones.
So, you must be thinking that is it the proof that Apple will feature wireless charging technology in iPhone? Yes, because Steve Rizzone hints in the interview that its partnership is with one of the largest consumer electronic company in the world. He said,”I cannot tell you about our partner, but I can guarantee that you are using the products of the company on your person or at home.”
